Karen McMillan has written a bunch of bestselling books for adults but is now having fun writing the Elastic Island Adventures books for children. Karen has been writing stories since she was a child, and some of the characters that appear in Elastic Island Adventures, Big Wig and Wee Wig, she created when she was ten years old. Big Wig and Wee Wig first appeared in serialised stories in a national newspaper. Karen loves the adventure of writing books. Like Kiri, she loves swimming, and she used to sing in a band, The Kat in the Hat. Like Emma, she likes nothing better than reading books, but she would rather not go mountain climbing. She isn’t sporty like Jed, but she appreciates his lovely manners. And she isn’t much like Ethan either but likes that he is kind to his sister and believes that everyone should try to be kind to one another.
